How does one year go so darn quickly?
It just feels like yesterday that we came home from the hospital with our newborn (5 day old) son, Xander.
In 10 days he will be 1 year old.
I can say it has been the best year of my life, and hope it has his and his Dadda's as well!
But why did it have to go so quick? Why?
Its amazing watching him each and every day grown and develop. When he goes to bed each night, and the house is all quiet, I long for the start of the next day, just so I can see him again, and watch him love and learn.
He's nearly walking, I'm sure its not far off... he can walk around furniture, with the odd stumble and head bonk as we call it.
He can say a few words... his first (I think) was Mum, but he gave that up for Dadda (I adore his squeals of Dadda, Dadda when Dadda arrives home from work and opens the front door). And now he can say what's that (together with pointing). He says it I'd say thousands of times a day, but its still cute!
I've taken thousands of photos of him over the year too, my little project of 52 weeks of Xander. I'm thinking of continuing it, its fun and a great way to watch him grow!
I had grand plans to make him an Iggle Piggle cake for his party, but have decided against it.. don't want to bite off more than I can chew for his first party, so just an ordinary nice tasting cake it is! ;) I've organised a picnic in the park, with sandwiches, mini quiches, cool drinks, playing on the swings with his cousins and lots of cuddles with his loved ones.
His party is two weeks away, so until then I'm going to savour each and every moment left of his first year!
